Sarah Walton has been making her unique birdbaths for over two decades. Although there is a small family of birdbath shapes, each one is unique and unrepeatable in its finer details and colouring, and because of the unexpected vagaries of the kiln.
Traditionally all Sarah’s birdbaths were fired in a saltgaze kiln, which gives them an iconic speckled and dimpled surface. However recently, she has begun firing a few in an electric kiln which gives a totally different surface.
The birdbaths are supplied with oak plinths in various heights and finishes, and recently Sarah has also provided limestone slabs on which the wood plinths stand.
