The first exhibition in our new garden, featuring site specific installations by two superb artists, JONATHAN GARRATT and RICHARD WATKINS. Jonathan Garratt F.R.S.A is an established potter and garden designer and his distinctive, witty and inspirational “Garden Punctuation“ installations have been a regular and popular feature in all our previous garden exhibitions. His moveable installations enliven borders and landscape vistas, and provide a humorous and decorative foil to vegetation.
Originally trained as a blacksmith, sculptor and printmaker Richard Watkins is making a new piece specifically for this event. In addition to a growing reputation of his own, he has collaborated with both of his parents, David Watkins and Wendy Ramshaw, two of Britain’s most distinguished sculptors and jewellers, with design and fabrication on several important commissions, eg for the Victoria and Albert Museum and Clare College, Cambridge.
The Garden will be open for the National Garden Scheme Yellow Book on 7 September 2008
